Grant names Ghana squad for Congo and Rwanda

The 60-year-old manager has handed recalls to Andre Ayew and Ebenezer Assifuah, while Godfred Donsah gets a maiden senior call-up.
Ghana have named a strong 24-man squad for an upcoming double header against Congo and Rwanda.
The Black Stars are set to face the Red Devils of Congo in Brazzaville on September 1 in an exhibition before taking on the Amavubi of Rwanda in Kigali in a 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers four days later.
Making a return to the squad is Swansea’s Andre Ayew, who missed Ghana’s last two matches against Togo and Mauritius in June as he was allowed time by coach Avram Grant to concentrate on his move to the English side from Marseille.
Also included is Bournemouth’s Christian Atsu, who only played his first match of the season in a Capital One Cup tie against Hartlepool United on Tuesday.
There is also a debut call-up for new Bologna signing Godfred Donsah after impressing at the 2015 FIFA Under-20 World Cup in New Zealand in June.
Conspicuously missing is Juventus’ Kwadwo Asamoah, who is yet to regain full fitness after missing the start of the season due to an injury setback, while Portland Timbers goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey is still out on a self-imposed sabbatical.
