President cup cum GPL game: GHALCA wants Hearts to give Kotoko 5% from gate fees

The Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) has agreed with GFA, that the Betpawa Premier League match between Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko on March 5 in Accra will serve as the 2023 President’s Cup.

If the match is tied, a penalty shootout will be held to determine the winner.

The match’s winner will be proclaimed champion in front of Ghana President Nana Akufo Addo will be in attendance on Sunday.

GHC 50,000 will be awarded to the victor of the 2023 Presidents Cup between Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko while the runner-up will get GHC 30,000.

GHALCA has however suggested to the home side of the game, Accra Hearts of Oak to give 5% from the gate proceedings of the game to Kotoko.

The GHALCA believes that this will encourage Kumasi Asante to vigorously promote the game as well.

Accra Hearts of Oak is yet to respond officially to the suggestion of the organizers of the presidential cup.
