Ghana squad arrive back home Brazil

Ghana’s national team, the Black Stars, have arrived home after going out at the group stage of the World Cup.

Their flight from Brazil touched down in Accra on Sunday afternoon,  with team captain Asamoah Gyan and some of the squad on board along with the management of the Ghana Football Association.

Other members of the playing team who did not arrive with the squad to Accra, left for their various bases in Europe.

Ghana could not progress to the second round after losing their final group game against Portugal on Thursday before leaving their base in Maceio.

The Black Stars were making their third-straight appearance at the World Cup.

The team was plagued with controversy, including two  squad members being asked to leave camp just before a crucial match and the appearance fees fiasco which led to the President John Mahama to charter a flight to deliver millions of dollars to the players who had threatened to boycott the tournament.
