We are not biased – Upper East regional police command
The Public Relations Officer of the Upper East regional police command, ASP Thomas Agbanyo, has said the police in the region are not biased towards any political party and will never be.
ASP Agbanyo was speaking in an interview today on Kumasi-based Ultimate radio.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Okere constituency in the Eastern Region expressed shock at the conduct of the Upper East regional police command over the venue for their final rally.
In a rebuttal, the National Organiser of the NDC, Kofi Adams called the bluff of the ‘frustrated’ NPP leaders. He said the NPP is just making ugly noises because “they don’t exist in Talensi, in fact they are out of the race”.
Kofi Adams insisted that the NDC wrote officially to the Upper East Regional Police Command on June 19th to request a venue for the rally so the NPP has no case.
ASP Agbanyo this morning stated emphatically that the police has not been biased. “You see, there’s one thing we all need to understand. We are discharging our duties as it should go..so I don’t get it when any political party try to push us to one side of the political divide. We are cautious in all we do and we will assure Ghanaians and the people of Talensi that the election will be peaceful devoid of misconduct”.
