Is Stonebwoy set for Ne-Yo collaboration?
Ghana may be seeing another high profile collaboration when BET award winner Stonebwoy partners American R&B sensation Ne-Yo.
In a Twitter post Monday, Stonebwoy is pictured with the American star hinting at a new release. It came with the comment
“Shouts to [Ne-Yo] Next Stop ATL…ClubPisces 4 July…Anticipate New Hit Song# GOHIGHER 15 July”.
Stonebwoy is the stage name of Livingstone Etse Satekla, a Ghanaian afropop, dancehall and reggae artiste who was recently awarded Best International Act at the 2015 BET Awards last Sunday.
He is yet to return to Ghana since becoming the first Ghanaian dancehall artiste to win a BET Award.
With many in the music industry pointing to the need for Ghanaian artiste to go global through international collaborations, it appears Stonebuoy may be taking the advice seriously.
Ne-Yo, the stage name for Shaffer Chimere Smith and popular for his break-through song ‘Let Me Love You’ could just be what Stonebwoy needs to affirm his status after the controversial decision to hand him a BET Award in the same category as Nigerian heavyweight Wizkid.
