Black stars lose to celebrities in charity match
Yesterday at the Babayara sports stadium, a selected team of black stars were beaten by their musician counterparts 6-4 in a charity football game.
The match was preceded by a clean up exercise on Saturday and a donation on Sunday morning. Black Stars Skipper Asamoah Gyan, former Skipper Stephen Appiah and Togolese skipper Emmanuel Seyi Adebayor removed their football boots and put on Wellington boots to take part in cleaning up Asafo Cement in Kumasi After the clean-up exercise, the stars moved to the Children’s Hospital at Pampaso in Kumasi where they donated two large Samsung flat screen television sets and a decoder and also painted the entire ward.
The match organized by the Asamoah gyan foundation and Adebayor’s SEA foundation received massive participation from musicians, movie producers, actors and the general public including Nolly wood actor Mr. Ibu.
Asamoah gyan, Adebayor, Funny face, lilwayne , gasmila, OJ,Agya koo and Akrobetu were among the celebrity team that won over the Black star select side made up of Christian Atsu, Afriyie acquah, Johnathan mensah, Baffour gyan and several others coached by Black stars assistant coach Maxwell konadu.
The celebrity team were down by 3 goals to zero by the first half of game but came back into the game through a goal from Asamoah gyan and went on top through a penalty kick won by adebayor and effected by funny face who went on to add another after a fine through pass from Asamoah gyan.
After the game Asamoah Gyan expressed gratitude towards all the celebrities said the exercise would be a regular event of the foundation and Zoomlion and hinted that the exercise would be replicated in other parts of the country adding that his foundation is there to help.
