Two arrested for robbery and rape at St Dominic SHS
Police have arrested two men for allegedly robbing students at St Dominic Senior High School in Wadie Adwumakase, Ashanti region. One of the suspects also allegedly raped one of the students.
According to police, on the 21st of May at about 10:30pm while the victim and her colleagues were in their dormitory sleeping, suspects Kwadwo Dwamena, a trader, Osei Kwabena and Dominic Frimpong, both drivers, besieged the dormitory with two locally-manufactured pistols and ordered the students to surrender their mobile phones, cash and provisions amidst threats and beatings.
In the course of the act, Kwadwo Dwamena, armed with a pistol, allegedly took the victim to the back of the dormitory and forcibly had sex with her on a heap of sand.
Police received a distress call and rushed to the scene and arrested Kwadwo Dwamena, who was armed with one locally-manufactured pistol with a live cartridge lodged in its chamber.
Upon interrogation, he stated that Osei Kwabena and Dominic Frimpong were his accomplices and that he had received the gun from the latter.
Five mobile phones, two tins of Ideal milk and assorted types of washing powder were retrieved from the room of Osei Kwabena after the two were subsequently arrested.
In their respective caution statements, Kwadwo Dwamena and Dominic Frimpong admitted the offence, but Osei Kwabena denied involvement.
