Banker wanted for allegedly stealing from deceased customers
A deputy branch manager of the Antiwa Rural Bank Daniel Antwi Bosiako is wanted by police for allegedly stealing GHȼ 77,019 from several accounts of deceased customers.
The bank’s CEO Kennedy Oteng said he received complaints from the family of one of the deceased customers that an amount of GHȼ4000 had been stolen from the deceased’s account.
A team, he said, was set up by the bank to look into several other complaints.
The team realized that the suspect had tampered with several other accounts belonging to customers from Anyinam, Kwabeng, Asiakwa and Techiman among other branches.
Eastern Region police PRO, ASP Yaw Nketia Yeboah said the suspect has absconded.
A Koforidua circuit court has also issued a bench warrant for his arrest.
