I’ll not seek revenge against my persecutors – KKD
Fashion icon Kwesi Kyei Darkwa, also known as KKD, has said that he will not seek revenge against his detractors.
Describing them as his persecutors, KKD stated that it was not his desire to seek retaliation against those who attempted to bring him down.
KKD was charged with rape in 2014 but the case was dropped after the prosecution said it had no evidence to support their case.
Victim unwilling to testify
Stating the reasons for their decision, the state prosecutors said: “the victim in this case is still very unwilling to testify in court.
“The AG is mindful of the provisions under the prosecutors code one of which is that the best interest of the victim is to be considered in cases of this nature in deciding whether to prosecute a case or not.”
“The other witness in this case who are mostly family members of the victim are also unwilling to testify,” the lawyers said.
Speaking at a thanksgiving service attended by family members and friends, the renowned broadcaster says he would move on with the help of God.
“Whatever has happened in my life is in the past. I look forward to the future with hope. Not too long ago, I was a suspect, now I am a prospect. I thank everybody who has stood by me.
“As for what people have said about those who prosecuted me and what people continue to say about those who have persecuted me, it is not my desire to seek retaliation or revenge. I won’t get even, I won’t get mad and I pray that God helps me to get ahead,” he stated.
Popular evangelist, Dr Lawrence Tetteh, who delivered the sermon advised KKD and his family to seek direction and favour from God and prayed for KKD and his family.
