The operations director for the Movement for Change (MFC) Hon Kwabena Senkyire, says the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) target of 1 million votes in the Ashanti region will not happen.
Speaking on Kessben Television’s Adeakye Abia, Mr Senkyire said the NDC want to use the corruption at the district assemblies to harness the 1 million votes.
He alleged that regional minister Dr Samuel Sarpong ordered the district assemblies to buy iPhones for NDC communicators out of the revenue collected from the public by the district assemblies.
Mr Senkyire further called on anti-corruption groups to turn their attention towards the district assemblies because there is more rot at the district assemblies than there is in other areas.
“If that is the way they want to amass the 1 million votes, I am assuring them it will not happen because we will check the DCEs,” he added.
Mr Senkyire further pleaded with the public to vote wisely and not to be easily swayed by what other people tell them.
