Pray for the president or you are a hypocrite – Rev. Patrick Quianoo
The General Overseer of the International Christian Faith Ministries, Rev. Dr. Patrick E. Quianoo has charged Ghanaians to pray for the country’s kings and leaders.
Speaking in an exclusive interview in his office at Labone in Accra, Rev Quianoo said: “It is because we as Ghanaians are not praying for our leaders that’s why we’re seeing all these happenings.
“I sincerely believe that if you are a Christian in opposition and you don’t pray for the government in power all because you are obeying party rules, then you are a hypocrite.”
He added: “If you belong to NPP and do not pray for President Mahama, you are not listening to God but your party and that doesn’t portray godliness”.
He was quick to add that he doesn’t belong to any political party but only speaks as a man of God.
Ghana rated top Christian country in the world
Rev. Dr. Quianoo said that research has it that Ghana remains the number one Christian country in the world, but that alone is not enough to move the nation forward.
“Staying in church houses and speaking tongues of fire alone won’t put food on the table. I am urging Ghanaians to reduce idle churching and work. We leave our offices and spend all our time praying and again expect magic? Forget it! God doesn’t work like that.”
Caution to youth
Rev. Dr. Quianoo cautioned youth to be circumspect in all their doings and to stay away from the “get rich quick attitude”. He also charged men of God to stop preaching prosperity and preach the Word for it is the only thing that can keep the country moving forward.
He concluded by saying that no government can ever make the nation a better place to live in without God.
