The National Chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Wednesday night revealed the presidential ambitions of NDC General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketia.
General Mosquito, as he is popularly referred to, may just pop up for the flagbearship slot of the NDC sometime in the not too distant future. This revelation came up during the Ashanti campaign tour of incumbent NDC Chairman Dr Kwabena Adjei.
At a meeting with about 60 delegates drawn from Obuasi East, Obuasi West, Adansi Akrofrom, Adansi Asokwa, New Edubiase and Fomena, the NDC Chair declared that Johnson Asiedu Nketia will become the NDC’s flagbearer in 2020.
In what appeared like a campaign for himself, the incumbent General Secretary, and National Organiser Yaw Boateng Gyan, Dr Adjei expressed his disquiet with the fact that the President has concentrated too much power in the ministers to the detriment of party leadership.
The meeting, which took place at the Obuasi Municipal Assembly around 7pm on Wednesday, December 3, was well attended.
