CAF kicks Morocco out of 2015 Cup of Nations

Morocco has been disqualified from participating in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations football tournament after its refusal to host the event in January next year due to Ebola fears.
The host country had requested that the tournament be postponed by a year because of the spread of Ebola.
At its meeting on November 11, 2014 in Cairo, the Executive Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) said it had taken note of the response of the Minister of Youth and Sports of the Kingdom of Morocco requesting the postponement of the Orange Africa Cup of Nations in 2015.
More penalties may follow as a result of the breach of the Host Association Agreement entered into between CAF and the Royal Moroccan Football Federation.
The Executive Committee will finalise the selection of the successful host country in ” two to three days” and confirm the place and date of the draw for the final tournament at the same time.
Qualifying matches will still go ahead on November 14, 15 and 19, paving the way for the qualification of the 15 teams that will join the host country’s team.
