Hearts of Oak confirm signing former Kotoko defender Samuel Inkoom

Former Ghana defender Samuel Inkoom has completed a return to the Premier League, joining reigning champions Hearts of Oak on a one-year deal.

Inkoom’s contract with Georgian club Torpedo Kutaisi expired in January this year, making him a free agent.

In early March, he began training with Hearts of Oak. Inkoom has impressed the technical staff, and he has been given a one-year contract.

The right-back last played in the Ghanaian top-flight for Kotoko. He helped the Porcupine Warriors win the league in 2009, before securing a move outside the country.

Inkoom spent 13 years abroad, representing 11 clubs, including FC Basel, Dnipro and US-based D.C. United.

The 32-year-old helped Ghana win U-20 FIFA World Cup in 2009 before becoming a Black Stars regular.

Inkoom played 44 times for Black Stars and recorded one goal. He was a member of the Black Stars squads for the 2010 and 2014 World Cups.
