‘Have faith in me to turn the economy around’ – Akufo-Addo urges Ghanaians

President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has asked the citizenry to repose confidence in him to turn the deteriorating economy around for good.

He spoke at the St. Mark Anglican Church at Kyebi in the Eastern region as part of his three-day tour of the region.

“Have faith in me. I will ensure that I turn the economy around. This too shall pass,” he ended.

The Okyenhene, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin, expressed discontent at the galamsey menace and its devastating effect on the Atewa Forest and asked that financiers of the menace be dealt with.

“The young boys don’t have money to buy excavators. The financiers are there. Doing galamsey is bad. Why would you go into the Atewa Dorest with an excavator? Go to school. Collecting 100 Ghana won’t be sustainable for the future,” he reprimanded.

Meanwhile, he chastised those who insult the president and called them witches and wizards.

He added without mincing words, ”those insulting the President are children of villagers. They are uncivilized. No well-nurtured person will insult an elderly. If you were raised in the Church you will not insult an elder. If you are not a villager then you may be a witch or wizard.”

“Not all will like you. Even Jesus Christ was crucified. It won’t bother me if they speak with sincerity but when you speak with hate, witchcraft, and envies, you must be careful because one day! one day ! one day! one day! One day! the truth will overcome evil lies and envy,” he consoled the President.
