Former Member of Parliament for Tema East, Daniel Titus-Glover has said the Attorney General, Mr Godfred Dame should be given the benefit of the doubt to handle the issues involving Chinese galamsey queen, Aisha Huang.

Mr Titus-Glover indicated that the Aisha Huang has broken the laws of Ghana therefore, she will face the full rigous of the law.

“Aisha Huang has fallen foul of the law, let the law take its course. Let us give the Attorney General the benefit of the doubt to handle this but the fight against galamsey is not for the government alone,” he said on the New Day show with Berla Mundi on TV3 Wednesday September 7.

Mr Dame has requested a file for Aisha Huang’s recent offences, for which she is standing trial at an Accra Circuit Court.

The popular Chinese galamsey businesswoman was arrested through intelligence after it was realised she has beaten immigration protocols to re-enter Ghana.

Therefore, it came as a surprise to many for her to continue to engage in the same offence for which she was deported.

The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS), after public backlash, has rejected all accusations of porosity at the country’s borders.

Head of Public Affairs Michael Amoako-Atta insists that the result of their diligence led to the arrest of Aisha Huang, also known as En Huang.

Before she re-appears in court on Wednesday, September 14, the Attorney General, Godfred Yeboah Dame, wants not only a fresh docket opened but he will also revisit the 2018 docket to continue her prosecution.

The notorious Chinese businesswoman has been slapped with two charges of mining without a licence, and engaging in the sale and purchase of minerals without a valid licence.
