Tema musicians record tribute song for Castro
A group of Tema-based musicians have collaborated on a song pleading with missing hiplife musician Castro to return.
The song, ‘Castro We Need You Back’ is from Octave Music & DS Media, and features Keche, Dadie Opanka, Stay Jay, Vibz, Obiri Yeboah, Dwayne Cash, JJ Gonami, Keemnyce and Mulagad.
Meanwhile, a candlight vigil planned by the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) for Sunday, July 13, was called off at the 11th hour after Castro’s family refused to give their blessing. The family said it was a bad omen to mark ‘one week’, usually associated with funeral rites, when there was no confirmation that Castro was indeed deceased.
Castro, born Theophilus Tagoe, and his female companion, Janet Bandu, went missing on Sunday, 6 July, while jet skiing in the waters near the Peace Holiday Beach resort in Ada.
The hiplife musician had been relaxing with Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan and a group of their friends when the unfortunate incident occurred.
The search for Castro and Janet, which is being undertaken by the Marine Division of the Ghana Police Service, has so far yielded nothing.
