We have no proposal from gov’t – Striking doctors

The Ghana Medical Association (GMA) has described as hoax reports from government officials that they have presented a counter proposal to them, which has been rejected.
“We have not received any proposal from the government since our last General Meeting on Friday. What they are saying in the public that the minister has signed and presented us a proposal is a hoax,” noted Deputy General Secretary of the GMA, Dr. Justice Yankson.
Dr. Yankson made this observation in an interview with Kwaku Owusu Adjei on Si Mi So on Kasapa FM Monday.
There were widespread reports last Sunday that the government was going to meet the doctors and find an amicable solution to the impasse that has resulted in the withdrawal of their services from the OPD and that of Emergency situations.
“There is no proposal. If there is, they should come out and give us documentary proof with dates and signature of the proposal they sent to us. There hasn’t been anything like that and we as doctors are not perturbed at all.”
