Malaysia and Ghana Strengthen Tourism Ties Ahead of Visit Malaysia 2026

The High Commission of Malaysia in Accra, in collaboration with Tourism Malaysia Dubai, has strengthened tourism cooperation between Malaysia and Ghana ahead of the global promotion of Visit Malaysia 2026.
The engagement session, held on November 10, 2025, brought together key institutions from Ghana’s tourism landscape, including the Ghana Tourism Authority and the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts.
Malaysia’s Chargé d’Affaires a.i., Mr. Syed Nauzer Idid, emphasized Ghana’s potential for reciprocal tourism growth, investment opportunities, and long-term industry development. The session explored prospects for bilateral cooperation, joint marketing activities, and potential Memoranda of Understanding.
Tourism Malaysia Dubai’s Director, Mr. Faharudin, highlighted Malaysia’s diverse tourism offerings, including cultural attractions, eco-tourism, and culinary tourism, stressing that Ghana’s involvement in Visit Malaysia 2026 will open new pathways for two-way travel and business engagement.
The event also explored halal tourism opportunities, with Malaysia offering expertise in accreditation training, hospitality standards, and industry capacity-building. Both sides expressed optimism for deeper cooperation and commitment to expanding tourism ties.
