Don't withdraw from NHIS – Outgoing Health Minister appeals to service providers
Outgoing Health Minister Mrs Sherry Ayittey has urged the Christian Health Providers Association of Ghana not to withdraw their services from the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).
Speaking at a ‘Meet the Press’ event in Accra on Tuesday, Mrs Ayittey reassured providers that government is mobilising funds to clear all outstanding arrears under the Scheme to ensure its smooth operations.
The Health Minister also announced that the NHIA has concluded a review of its medicine list and has revised its rates to reflect market realities.This will take effect from September 2014.
She urged service providers to exercise restraint as government works to ensure the sustainability of the scheme as well as create a win-win situation for all parties.
