Ashanti NDC begins biometric registration

The Ashanti regional branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has begun a biometric registration of its members as part of a data collection drive.
This is in a move to strengthen its grassroots base towards the 2016 general elections and root out imposters.
Materials have already been distributed to the 47 constituencies in the region for the exercise to commence in the party’s 4,628 wards.
NDC’s Regional Organiser, Alhaji Sannie Abdulai, told the Daily Graphic on Wednesday that the exercise was part of the party’s contribution to ensuring violence-free elections in 2016.
He said the exercise was also a prelude to the constituency elections planned for August this year.
The party has asked all ward-level executives to conclude their elections by July 19, to ensure a smooth constituency election.
