The District Chief Executive of the Upper East Denkyira, Peter Kofi Owusu Ashia has been arrested for engaging in illegal mining operations.

In an interview with Citi News the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Inusah Fuseini confirmed the incident.

According to him, the inter-ministerial task force working together with the national security task force on natural resources has secured useful information to help with their work.

He reiterated that it goes on to point to the fact that “nobody who is found to have aided in this crime will not be left out.”
