NDC will respond appropriately to petitioners affidavit – Adawudu

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has indicated it would respond appropriately to the affidavit filed by petitioners in the case contesting the legitimacy of President John Mahama at the Supreme Court.

The petitioners over the weekend presented some 400,000 documents to support their case for the challenging the validity of the results of the 2012 presidential elections.

According to a member of the NDC Legal Team, Victor Kojogah Adawudu, the affidavit represents nothing new but old argument.

He said the respondents nonetheless are ready to react appropriately to the affidavit once it is served on them.

“Logically, it will say that if you are talking about 11,000 stations that there were irregularities, omissions or malpractices, you have brought people who were there and saw it and you have put it in affidavit so it will cover a large chunk of those people but if you bring only 400,000, it doesn’t even come to one million which will be about one tenth of it.”

He continued saying, “I read on the net that they were talking about powerpoints; the courts did not accept powerpoint but in their affidavit, they are talking that they will do a power point…so we wait to see the kind of affidavit they have and we will respond to it in appropriate measures.”

Lawyer Adawudu also noted that the Petitioners are just rehashing what “they have said in their petition.”
