Produce Bawumia's car in 24hrs – Police orders Sir John
The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party, (NPP) Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie has been ordered by the Ghana Police to produce the vehicle in which Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia was traveling in when he had an accident on the Bole-Bamboi road weekend.
Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie reportedly had the vehicle towed from the accident scene for the party’s own investigation into the accident they believe was masterminded by the NDC government.
The Police subsequently directed he returns the vehicle but he refused.
The Police is now threatening to take drastic actions against him if he does not return the vehicle within the next 24 hours.
“This afternoon at about 2:30pm I received a letter dated the 20th March 2013 from the National MTTU, Ghana Police Service Accra.”
“It was addressed to me as the general secretary of the New Patriotic Party and copied to the chairman of the NPP…”
Mr. Owusu Afriyie however questioned why the police will begin investigations when they have not spoken to the person involved in the accident. “How do you complete an investigation without interviewing Dr. Bawumia…?”
