A “major confusion” is set to rock the administration of President John Mahama, Communications Director for the New Patriotic Party’s 2012 Campaign Team, Nana Akomea has predicted.
According to Nana Akomea, many NDC faithful are unhappy at the manner with which the President is going about appointing officials into his government, which he claims is causing disaffection among the rank and file of the party.
There are controversies surrounding the President’s latest appointments which had six nominees designated for specific areas at the Office of President.
They include: Mr. AlhassanAzong, Minister of State at the Presidency in charge of Public Sector Reform; Mr. Rashid Pelpuo, Minister of State at the Presidency in charge of Public-Private Partnerships; Alhaji Mustapha Ahmed, Minister of State at the Presidency in charge of Development Authorities in the Office of the President; and Fifi Kwetey, Minister of State at the Presidency in charge of Financial and Allied institutions in the Office of the President, amongst others.
But speaking on News File on and Joy FM Saturday, Nana Akomea said the President could have reduced the numbers by appointing a Minister for Presidential Affairs and appoint two deputies to assist him.
“If we are not careful Castle [Office of the President] will become dumping ground for anybody who they can’t find any proper job for,” the former MP for Okaikoi South constituency dreaded.
“The confusion will start pretty soon,” he added.
