A/R: Drivers park their cars as passengers are left stranded over another fuel increment (Video)

Not too long after a gallon of diesel hit GHC100, there has been another increment in the fuel price which has taken effect causing more chaos among passengers and drivers of commercial vehicles.

Following the three times price increment in the spate of 2 weeks, the commercial drivers working at Efiduase in the Ashanti region on Wednesday 2nd November 2022 decided not to work which has led to many passengers being stranded.

In other parts of the Ashanti region, there was near exchanges of blows between the conductors and some passengers who were being charged astronomical fares.

Some of the drivers said they cannot wait for the GPRTU to come out with approved fares while they keep buying the fuel at an increased price.

The drivers expressed disappointment in the government over what they described as cheat on the part of government robbing them.

“The price was recently increased and we all agreed to increase our fares by 19% and a few days after that you increase the fuel price again? and you expect us to stick with the same old price? what do you take us for?” One driver said on Kessben Maakye with Kwame Appiah.
