Okyeame Kwame releases new music video

Hiplife artiste, Okyeame Kwame, has released the music video for his new song, “Mere Twen Wo”, which stars fellow musician, MzVee.
The video begins with aerial shots of a plush estate residence where Okyeame Kwame’s love interest, Mzvee, gets into her car to come meet him. Meanwhile, Okyeame Kwame who is napping at home suddenly wakes up and remembers that his lover is en route to his place.
He wakes up and begins singing about how much he is anticipating the visit from his love interest. Just like any other person expecting a visit, he starts cleaning and tidying his room.
One unique aspect of this video is the fact that the fans, television set and other living room items are played by actors in costume.  After tidying his room, Okyeame Kwame joins a group of dancers and acrobats at the beach to perform a choreographed dance.
The song is a reggae song and Okyeame Kwame alternates between singing and rapping. The video features a lot of beautiful shots of some idyllic locations in Accra, such as the beach and beautiful estates among others.
In a media interview, Okyeame Kwame said the concept behind the video was to project the ideal Ghana. “The video is what I envision as the ideal portrayal of Ghana. It’s a simple video about a man who is expecting his lover so he does the usual things any lover would do.
“He cleans his room, clears all the dust but he forgets to clean his heart. That is the rationale here, although we clean our outward surroundings, we forget to clean the most important part of all, our heart.”
The Rap Dacta explained that there is a twist in the video, which makes it different from similar videos out there.
“We wanted the video to be an anticlimax and different from others.”
