Real Madrid have no immediate plan to bring back Jose Mourinho, according to president Florentino Perez.
Mourinho, 52, won La Liga and the Copa del Rey during his time at the Bernabeu from 2010 to 2013, but on Thursday was sacked as manager of Chelsea.
Real manager Rafael Benitez is under pressure in a disappointing season that includes a 4-0 home loss to Barcelona.
Perez said: “No-one can know the future, but right now he will not come to Madrid.”
Mourinho’s second spell at Chelsea came to an end with the club a point above the Premier League relegation zone.
His greatest achievement in Madrid was ending Real’s four-year wait for a league title.
“I have good memories of Mourinho,” said Perez. “He helped us elevate our level. It wasn’t a bad moment for us. With him in command we returned to where we belonged.”
