Ghana loses out to Cote D’ Ivoire in CHAN final qualifier
The local Black Stars have failed to qualify for a fourth consecutive CHAN competition to be held in Rwanda.
The local Black Stars were kicked out on the away goal rule.
AS Tanda striker Boua Koffi Davy scored the winner in the 35th minute, connecting with Cheick Moukoro’s cross to send the Elephants to the final tournament which takes place between 16 January and February 7 next year.
The Black Stars defeated the Ivoirians 2-1 at the Baba Yara Stadium two weeks ago but were eliminated on a 2-2 aggregate Friday.
This is the first time Ghana has failed to qualify for the competition since its inception in 2009.
The Ivorians will now join 14 other countries with Congo and Cameroon battling in Brazzaville for the last available spot on Saturday.
