Bank of Ghana Engages Heads of Banks in Post-MPC Meeting at Bank Square

The Bank of Ghana today, 6th October 2026, held a Post-Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) Engagement with Heads of Banks at The Bank Square.

The high-level engagement was led by the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr. Johnson Pandit Asiama, together with the First Deputy Governor, Dr. Zakari Mumuni, and the Second Deputy Governor, Mrs. Matilda Asante-Asiedu.

The meeting provided a platform to discuss recent monetary policy decisions and macroeconomic developments, as well as key regulatory and supervisory priorities for the banking sector.

Addressing the bank executives, Dr. Asiama emphasized the need for a resilient and forward-looking banking sector to support Ghana’s economic transformation.

“For the banking sector, this means that resilience, prudence and innovation must remain at the centre of our collective agenda,” Dr. Asiama said.

The Governor further urged banks to remain vigilant and committed to responsible banking and sound risk management practices to further strengthen the financial system and support the transformation of the Ghanaian economy.

The Post-MPC engagement forms part of the central bank’s ongoing efforts to deepen dialogue with industry stakeholders and ensure alignment on policies aimed at safeguarding financial stability and driving sustainable economic growth.
