NPP delegates to present approved IDs for verification ahead of October 3 elections
Delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will be required to present a Voter ID card, Ghana Card or NPP party card for verification before voting in the party’s national officers elections on October 3, 2026.
In a notice dated September 30, the party’s National Officers Elections Committee (NOEC) said the Electoral Commission (EC) will verify every delegate before they are allowed to cast their ballot.
According to the committee, delegates must have their names on the official delegates’ register and present at least one of the three approved identification documents.
The NOEC has urged delegates to carry an accepted form of identification and arrive early to allow enough time for the verification process.
Voting will take place at 31 polling stations in the election of nine national officers, including the National Chairman, Vice Chairman, General Secretary, National Organiser and National Communications Director.
The election is scheduled to begin at 12:00 p.m., following constitutional amendment proceedings expected to start at 9:00 a.m.
The committee has also directed constituency, regional and national party officers to communicate the identification requirements to delegates within their respective jurisdictions.
Delegates have again been encouraged to allow sufficient time for verification before voting begins.
