NACOC Shuts Down Popular Laboma Pub Over Alleged Narcotics Trade; 3 Arrested

The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has shut down the Amsterdam Pub at Laboma in Accra following an intelligence-led operation over alleged narcotics-related activities at the facility.

The operation, carried out by officers of the Commission, led to the arrest of three operators of the pub who are currently in custody assisting with investigations.

According to NACOC, the closure of the pub forms part of intensified efforts to clamp down on the illicit trade and distribution of narcotic substances across the country.

The Commission says investigations remain ongoing to establish the full extent of the alleged narcotics activities at the pub and to determine whether other individuals may be linked to the operation.

NACOC has reiterated its commitment to disrupting drug trafficking networks and has urged the public to volunteer credible information that will aid in the fight against illicit drugs.
