NPP Clears All 47 Aspirants For 2026 National Officers Elections – Balloting Set For Sept 9

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has successfully completed vetting for aspirants seeking to contest in its 2026 National Officers Elections.

In a press statement issued on September 5, 2026, the National Officers Elections Committee (NOEC) announced that all 47 aspirants who appeared before the National Officers Election Vetting Committee (NOEVC) have been cleared to contest.

The vetting exercise was conducted from August 31 to September 3, 2026, in accordance with the timetable published by the NOEC.

According to the statement signed by the Committee, the Vetting Committee, after examining documentation, interacting with aspirants and considering applicable eligibility requirements, submitted its report recommending that all 47 aspirants are suitable and eligible.

“Accordingly, all 47 aspirants have been CLEARED TO CONTEST, subject to the processes provided under the applicable rules governing the elections,” the statement said.

Breakdown of cleared aspirants:

– National Chairman – 4
– National Vice-Chairperson – 13
– General Secretary – 4
– National Treasurer – 4
– National Organiser – 8
– National Youth Organiser – 6
– National Women’s Organiser – 2
– National Nasara (Zongo) Organiser – 5
– National Communications Director – 1

Total: 47

The party says balloting for positions on the ballot paper will take place on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at the NPP Headquarters, Asylum Down, Accra.

Specific times for the balloting for the respective positions will be communicated directly to the aspirants, who are expected to participate in person or through duly authorised representatives.

The NOEC thanked party members, aspirants and the media for their cooperation during the vetting phase as preparations continue toward the National Officers elections.
