Queen mothers in the Central Region have donated essential health equipment to the Breman Asikuma Health Centre in the Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District to support quality healthcare delivery.
The items donated included thermometer guns, bed sheets, Veronica buckets, detergents, mops and other sanitary materials.
Speaking to Kekyireba Kofi Obeng after the presentation, the Queen mother of Breman Traditional Area, Nanahemaa Yaa Boamah II, said health is the most important aspect of life and must be given priority.
She said the Central Regional Queen Mothers Association thought it wise to contribute their quota towards improving healthcare in the region, hence the donation to support the facility.
According to her, queen mothers are role models in their communities and have a responsibility to undertake meaningful initiatives that positively impact the lives of the people they serve.
On her part, the President of the Central Regional Queen Mothers Association, Nanahemaa Adwoa Nkansah Aduam III, urged nurses at the facility to exercise patience and show compassion to patients who visit the centre.
She noted that some health workers tend to speak harshly to patients, a situation that discourages people from seeking healthcare, and called for professionalism and empathy in handling patients.
She however added that patients must also cooperate with health workers to ensure smooth healthcare delivery.
