Presidential age requirement should remain 40, not reduced to 30 – Lawyer Sarfo Duku

Lawyer Safo Duku, an aspiring National Democratic Congress (NDC) Ashanti Regional Secretary, has argued against proposals to reduce Ghana’s minimum age requirement for presidential candidates from 40 to 30 years.

Speaking on Kessben FM, Safo Duku maintained that the current constitutional age threshold of 40 should remain unchanged.

According to him, the presidency demands a high level of maturity, experience, and leadership, making 40 years the appropriate minimum age for anyone seeking the nation’s highest office.

“The age requirement to be President in Ghana should be 40; it should not be reduced to 30,” he stated during the discussion.
