Patrice Evra Urges Manu Kone to Choose Arsenal Over Manchester United

Former Manchester United defender Patrice Evra has encouraged Roma midfielder Manu Kone to consider a move to Arsenal instead of Old Trafford, insisting the French international has all the qualities needed to succeed under Mikel Arteta.

The 25-year-old has become one of Europe’s most sought-after midfielders following an impressive FIFA World Cup campaign with France, attracting strong interest from several top clubs.

Manchester United Continue Pursuit

Manchester United remain among the leading contenders to sign Kone as they continue strengthening their midfield ahead of the new season.

Reports suggest the Red Devils have already opened discussions with both the player’s representatives and Roma over a potential transfer.

The Serie A club are believed to value the French midfielder at around £51 million, with United viewing him as another key addition alongside new arrivals Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos.

Evra Believes Arsenal Is the Better Fit

Despite his legendary status at Manchester United, Evra believes Arsenal could provide the ideal environment for Kone to flourish.

Speaking about his fellow Frenchman, Evra highlighted the midfielder’s energy, physicality and work ethic, qualities he believes are perfectly suited to the demands of the Premier League.

He also stressed that players moving to England often need time to adapt and warned against judging Kone too quickly if he makes the switch.

Evra added that, under Mikel Arteta’s guidance, Kone has the potential to become a major success, provided he maintains consistency in his performances.

Arsenal Focused on Bruno Guimaraes

Although Evra has backed Kone for a move to the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal’s current priority appears to be Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes.

Reports indicate the Brazilian has already agreed personal terms with the Premier League champions as they continue negotiations over a possible transfer.

Former Chelsea midfielder Claude Makelele has also voiced his support for the move, describing Guimaraes as an ideal fit for Arteta’s style of play.

Makelele praised the Brazilian’s ambition and quality, noting that Arsenal’s recent success in the Premier League and Champions League makes them an attractive destination for elite players.

While Manchester United continue to push for Kone’s signature, Arsenal’s focus on Guimaraes means the race for the Roma midfielder could still take several twists before the transfer window closes.
