I earn GHC4800 a month – Young Borlaman who uses Aboboyaa to collect refuse in Kumasi reveals

A refuse collector who uses an aboboyaa to collect household waste has revealed that he earns an average of GHC4,800 per month, with his daily income sometimes reaching GHC300.
Speaking on Kessben Drive with host Fante Quoo, Simon disclosed that he typically makes around GHC200 on a normal day, while on busier days he earns as much as GHC300.
According to Simon, his work involves moving from house to house to collect refuse, a service that provides him with a steady source of income. Based on his earnings, he says he takes home about GHC4,800 each month.
His revelation has sparked conversations about income opportunities in Ghana’s informal sector, with many noting that his monthly earnings are higher than the salaries of some teachers, bankers, and other salaried workers.
Simon encouraged young people not to look down on honest work, emphasizing that dedication and consistency can make even physically demanding jobs financially rewarding.
