I Will Reposition NPP-USA For Bawumia’s Victory 2028
James Owusu, the 1st Vice Chairman of NPP-USA and Aspirant for NPP-USA Branch Chairman, has laid out a detailed mobilization blueprint to support Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and secure victory for the New Patriotic Party in the 2028 general elections.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s EkosiiSen program, Mr. Owusu said his vision is built on “disciplined planning and mobilization of human, financial, and logistical resources” to create what he called “an unstoppable force” for the party in the U.S.A.
A Secretariat to augment the Branch Activities
Central to his plan is the establishment of an official NPP-USA Branch Secretariat. Owusu said the office would fast-track the issuance of membership cards and serve as the administrative hub for all Branch affairs.
“I have a vision to establish an official NPP-USA Branch Secretariat to help fast-track membership cards and handle all NPP-USA Branch affairs,” he stated. He argued that a functioning secretariat would bring order, accountability, and efficiency to diaspora operations that have largely relied on informal networks.
Grassroots Strategy: Adopt-A-Polling Station
Owusu also unveiled a grassroots mobilization strategy dubbed “One Chapter Member, One Polling Station” (1CM1PS). Under the plan, every chapter member would adopt and directly sponsor a specific polling stations in Ghana.
“Each chapter member will adopt and directly sponsor specific polling stations, funding agent training, voter contact, and Election Day logistics at the exact frontline where victory is decided,” he explained.
The approach is designed to channel diaspora resources directly to the polling stations that determine election outcomes, strengthening the party’s presence at the grassroots level.
Welfare and Electoral Discipline
Beyond logistics, Mr. Owusu said member welfare would be a priority. He pledged to build “visible, reliable, and dignified welfare benefits” to ensure that party service is matched with tangible support.
“Members are the lifeblood of this movement. I will build visible, reliable, and dignified welfare benefits proving that serving the Party means being valued by it,” he said.
On internal party processes, James Owusu stressed that he and his team would fully abide by the rules set by the NPP-USA Branch Electoral Committee. “We will all abide by the guidelines and regulations that the NPP-USA Branch Electoral Committee will bring out to govern the electoral process of the Branch,” he noted.
A Track Record in the Branch
Owusu traced his journey in the party from TESCON in Ghana, to Branch Youth Organizer, then to Cincinnati Chapter Chairman, and now the 1st Vice Chairman of NPP-USA. He said the experience gives him a clear understanding of what is needed to strengthen the Branch ahead of 2028.
With the NPP preparing early for 2028 through its newly constituted Sector Committees, Owusu said diaspora chapters must align with the national strategy and deliver measurable results on the ground.
“Our goal is simple: mobilize resources, organize people, and deliver victory for Dr. Bawumia and the NPP in 2028,” he concluded.
The NPP-USA has yet to open nominations for Branch elections, but Owusu’s announcement signals an early start to campaigning within NPP-USA.
