Dumsor: NDC must account for Levy on fuel – Kerskine Owusu Opoku

A member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has called on the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to account for revenues from the fuel levy amid ongoing concerns about power supply.

Speaking on Kessben FM, Kerskine Owusu Opoku urged the National Democratic Congress to explain how proceeds from the D-Levy on fuel have been utilized, particularly in relation to addressing “Dumsor,” the country’s intermittent power outages.

Opoku argued that transparency over the use of such levies is essential, especially as Ghanaians continue to experience challenges with electricity supply. He questioned whether funds collected were effectively channeled into stabilizing the energy sector.

The remarks add to the ongoing political debate between the NPP and NDC over responsibility for Ghana’s energy challenges, with both parties trading blame over the causes and management of power crises.

The National Democratic Congress has yet to respond publicly to the claims made during the radio discussion.
