Freedom of speech is threatened under this NDC government – Maxwell Ofosu Boakye, Former Suame MCE

Maxwell Ofosu Boakye, former Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Suame, has alleged that freedom of speech is under threat in Ghana under the current National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration.
Speaking in an interview on Kessben FM with host Kofi Appiah, Ofosu Boakye expressed concern about what he described as growing limitations on free expression and political dissent.
“Freedom of speech is threatened under this NDC government,” he stated during the discussion.
His comments come at a time when issues surrounding governance, media independence, and civil liberties continue to dominate public discourse in Ghana. While some critics of the government have echoed similar concerns, others maintain that Ghana’s democratic institutions remain resilient and continue to uphold constitutional rights.
