Mahama’s tax cuts are not genuine, He’s been removing tax and putting it somewhere indirectly – Beatrice Owarewaa Siaw

Member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Beatrice Owarewaa Siaw, has accused the administration of John Dramani Mahama of reintroducing taxes through indirect means despite claims of removing them.

Speaking in an interview on Kessben FM, Ms. Siaw alleged that while certain taxes have been officially scrapped, they are being shifted and imposed in other forms that ultimately still burden citizens.

“Government may say a tax has been removed, but in reality, it is being placed somewhere else indirectly,” she stated.

Her remarks come amid ongoing political debate over tax policies and the cost of living, with parties offering differing views on how best to manage revenue generation without overburdening the public.
