Someone introduced TikTok to me 15-20 years ago, but I did not sign up – Kumawood Actor, Uga Uche

Kumawood actor Uga Uche has revealed how joining TikTok only recently has begun to positively impact his acting career, despite being introduced to the idea years ago.

Speaking on Kessben Drive with host Fante Quoo, Uche said someone mentioned TikTok to him “15 to 20 years ago,” but he chose not to sign up at the time because he did not fully understand its potential.

“I didn’t know the place was that interesting like that,” he admitted. “Now it’s been really helping my acting career.”

The actor explained that since finally joining the platform, he has been able to reach a wider audience and promote his work more effectively, highlighting TikTok’s growing role as a promotional tool for creatives in the film industry.

However, Uche’s timeline appears to be inaccurate, as TikTok was officially launched in 2017 by ByteDance. His remarks nonetheless reflect how rapidly the platform has grown in influence, particularly among actors and content creators seeking visibility in a competitive digital space.
