Many students pick bad habits like betting and hookups in senior high schools under peer pressure – Akua Afriyie Addai, Clinical Psychologist

A clinical psychologist, Akua Afriyie Addai, has raised concerns about the influence of peer pressure on senior high school students, warning that it often leads them to adopt harmful habits.
Speaking on Kessben TV’s Mma Nkabi show with Akua Yeboah Afriyie, Addai highlighted that many students are engaging in activities such as betting and casual hookups due to the desire to fit in with their peers.
According to her, these behaviors can have long-term negative effects on students’ mental health, academic performance, and future prospects. She emphasized the need for parents, teachers, and school authorities to provide guidance and support to help students make responsible choices.
Addai also encouraged young people to develop self-awareness and resist peer pressure by focusing on personal goals and healthy habits.
