Resource-rich Ghana still struggling while others thrive – Leadership must act – Kwabena Owusu Dankwah (KOD) fires

Ghanaian media personality Kwabena Owusu Dankwah has called for stronger leadership and better resource management, arguing that the country’s economic struggles persist despite its vast natural wealth.

Speaking on Maakye on Kessben FM, KOD noted that several countries with little or no natural resources have managed to build strong economies and accumulate substantial reserves through effective governance and strategic planning.

He contrasted this with Ghana’s situation, pointing out that the country is richly endowed with resources such as gold, oil, and cocoa, yet continues to face economic challenges. According to him, the issue is not a lack of resources but how they are managed.

KOD urged national leaders to take decisive steps to address inefficiencies, curb mismanagement, and implement policies that ensure the country’s natural wealth translates into tangible benefits for citizens.

His comments add to ongoing public discourse about governance and economic reform, as stakeholders continue to debate how Ghana can better leverage its resources to achieve sustainable growth and financial stability.
