Nana Krobea Asante Honoured with Ghana Women of Excellence Lifetime Achievement Award

Traditional leader and renowned entrepreneur Nana Krobea Asante has been honoured with the Ghana Women of Excellence Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of her immense contribution to Ghana’s tourism and catering industry.

In 2020, Nana Krobea Asante was enstooled as the Adontenhene of Kwahu Mpraeso, making history as the first woman to occupy the position which had previously been reserved for men.

Her enstoolment was in recognition of her dedication to the development of her hometown, Twenedruase, in the Eastern Region, where she continues to serve with distinction and the admiration of many.

Aside from her traditional leadership role, Nana Krobea Asante is widely known as the founder and Chief Executive Officer of the award-winning Azmera Restaurant.

For more than three decades, she has played a significant role in promoting Ghanaian cultural tourism through the restaurant, which offers authentic Ghanaian cuisine in a modern setting that reflects the country’s rich cultural heritage.

Under her leadership, Azmera Restaurant has gained recognition for maintaining high industry standards and delivering excellent service to guests.

The restaurant further cemented its reputation when it received the World Culinary Award for Ghana’s Best Restaurant during the global pandemic.

Nana Krobea Asante has also been recognised for her role in mentoring and training hundreds of young women in Ghana’s catering industry. Many of the young women who trained under her guidance have gone on to establish their own successful businesses.

Her contributions have previously been acknowledged at the 4th Ghana Women of Excellence Awards in 2019.

The latest honour recognises her enduring impact on Ghana’s cultural tourism and entrepreneurship landscape.
