Eugene Boakye Antwi Joins Race for NPP General Secretary Position, Promises Strong Grassroots Reorganisation

New Patriotic Party (NPP) stalwart, Hon. Eugene Boakye Antwi, has officially intensified his campaign for the position of General Secretary of the party, pledging to strengthen grassroots structures and enhance organisational efficiency within the party.
The experienced politician and party communicator has been engaging party members nationwide as part of his bid to secure the mandate to lead the party’s administrative machinery. He has consistently emphasised the need for strong polling station-level organisation as the foundation of the NPP’s electoral success.
On party reorganisation and internal democracy, Hon. Boakye Antwi said the NPP must prioritise effective mobilisation, discipline, and participation of members across all levels of the party structure. He noted that a strong grassroots base remains essential for sustaining the party’s electoral fortunes.
According to the statement issued on 7th March, 2026 issued by Hon. Eugene Boakye Antwi, his vision for the General Secretary position is to promote unity within the party, strengthen internal communication, and ensure transparent and credible internal elections.
He has also called on party members and sympathisers to participate actively in the ongoing nationwide membership registration exercise, which runs from March 1 to March 31, 2026. He described the exercise as a critical step in strengthening the party’s internal database and organisational foundation.
The NPP’s reorganisation roadmap will see verification of members from April 1 to April 14, 2026, followed by a series of internal elections beginning with Polling Station Executive Elections scheduled for May 10 to May 16, 2026.
Subsequent party elections include Electoral Area Elections from June 10 to June 15, 2026; External Branch Elections from June 20 to July 19, 2026; Constituency Executive Elections from July 11 to July 12, 2026; Regional Executive Elections from August 8 to August 9, 2026; and the National Delegates Conference scheduled for September 18 to September 20, 2026.
Hon. Boakye Antwi has been urging party executives, coordinators, and grassroots organisers to lead mobilisation efforts and ensure a smooth reorganisation process.
Supporters of the aspirant have described him as a strong communicator with experience in party administration, while his campaign team continues to engage delegates and party faithful across various regions.
