NPP Unveils Roadmap for Internal Elections

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced a comprehensive timeline for its internal elections, following the successful presidential primaries held on January 31, 2026. According to General Secretary Justin Frimpong Kodua, the process will begin with membership registration from March 1 to 31, 2026, followed by data entry and verification.
Membership Registration and Verification
The registration of members will take place throughout March 2026, while data entry for newly registered members will run from April 1 to April 10, 2026. A verification exercise is scheduled between April 14 and April 16, 2026, to ensure accuracy and credibility in the electoral process.
Polling Station Elections
Nominations for polling station aspirants will open on April 20 and close on April 24, 2026, with vetting taking place from April 25 to April 30, 2026. Elections will be held from May 10 to May 16, 2026.
Electoral Area Elections
The party will then move to elect electoral area executives, with nominations received from May 23 to May 25, 2026, and elections scheduled for June 10 to June 15, 2026.
Constituency Executive Elections
The final stage will focus on constituency executive elections, with nominations opening and closing from June 22 to June 24, 2026, and elections held from July 11 to July 12, 2026.
National Executive Elections
The party’s national executive elections will take place from September 18 to 20, 2026, with nominations for national positions opening from August 10 to 14, 2026.
The NPP’s internal elections are part of its nationwide reorganisation exercise, aimed at strengthening the party’s internal structures ahead of future political engagements.
