Police arrest 13 suspected prostitutes, a landlord, and a bouncer in Koforidua

The Koforidua New Juabeng South District Police Command has arrested thirteen suspected prostitutes, including twelve Nigerian nationals, in a crackdown on alleged criminal activities linked to prostitution in the area.
The operation also led to the arrest of a landlord and a bouncer believed to be connected to the facility where the suspects were operating. According to police, the arrests are in connection with allegations of human trafficking, assault, operating a brothel, permitting a minor to engage in prostitution, and trading in prostitution.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the premises were being used as a brothel, with authorities suspecting that some of the individuals may have been trafficked. Police further indicated that the involvement of a minor has heightened the seriousness of the case.
The suspects are currently in police custody assisting with investigations and are expected to be processed for court.
The police command has reiterated its commitment to clamping down on human trafficking and other related offences, urging the public to provide information that could help combat such crimes in the district.
