Grassroots for Ken Campaign Asserts Ohene Agyapong is Best Candidate to Lead NPP to Victory in 2028

The Grassroots for Ken campaign has issued a press release setting the record straight on allegations and narratives surrounding Hon. Ken Ohene Agyapong’s candidacy for the NPP flagbearership. The campaign asserts that Ohene Agyapong is the best candidate to lead the party to victory in the 2028 elections.
According to the press release, allegations that Ohene Agyapong is a traitor because contract accruals owed to him were paid under an NDC administration are false and misleading. The campaign states that Ohene Agyapong executed a lawful contract with the Government of Ghana, which was duly certified, audited, and validated by state institutions.
The press release also addresses concerns about Ohene Agyapong’s temperament, describing him as bold, outspoken, and emotionally invested in Ghana’s progress. While acknowledging that he may have moments of passion, the campaign attributes these to his commitment to national interest, anti-corruption advocacy, and defense of truth.
Regarding respect for party leadership, the campaign asserts that Ohene Agyapong is neutral within the internal factions of the NPP and does not belong to any entrenched caucus or power bloc. This neutrality, they argue, positions him as a unifier and bridge-builder across all wings of the party.
The campaign emphasizes that the key question is electability and whether Ohene Agyapong can win power for the NPP in 2028. They cite organic support for him across markets, campuses, churches, and social spaces, with many Ghanaians seeing him as real, fearless, independent, and deeply Ghana-first in outlook.
The press release concludes with an appeal to delegates to choose a candidate who can win nationally, unite the party, and prioritize Ghana’s interests. “That candidate is Ken Ohene Agyapong,” it states.
The Grassroots for Ken campaign is urging all NPP delegates to support Ohene Agyapong’s candidacy, citing his broad national appeal and commitment to the party’s values.
