Aside being very bad in Gov’t, NPP in opposition have also been very bad, contributing less to Democracy – Mahmud Kabore

Mahmud Kabore, spokesperson for the Minister of Natural Resources, has criticized the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for what he describes as a weak performance since moving into opposition.
Speaking on Kessben FM during a discussion with KOD, Kabore argued that one year in opposition has yielded little contribution from the NPP toward strengthening Ghana’s democracy.
According to him, the party has failed to play its expected role of offering constructive criticism, policy alternatives, and effective oversight of government actions.
Kabore noted that a strong opposition is essential for democratic growth, but insisted that the NPP’s approach so far has been more focused on political rhetoric than meaningful engagement on national issues.
He urged the party to refocus its efforts on promoting accountability and democratic principles in the interest of the country.
